Kyotera Community Initiative for Empowerment (KCIE)

Our Mission & Vision Image

We are Kyotera Community Initiative for Empowerment (KCIE), a non-profit, non-political and non-religious community based organization (CBO) operating in Kyotera District.

Our key activities;

  • Train small holder farmers (coffee, bananas, maize, beans, fruits) on improved post harvest handling, storage, and loss reduction.
  • Support community based agro processing initiatives such as coffee hulling, banana drying, maize milling and fruit processing.
  • Conduct practical demonstrations on value addition, packaging, and basic quality standards for local and international markets.
  • Facilitate market linkages between farmer groups, cooperatives, local traders and institutional buyers in Kyotera and near by towns.
